Country that I would like to visit - Mexico

Mexico! 💕

I have some good reasons. First of all, his crazy everyday life in the City of Mexico; with 8.855 million inhabitants, its the most crowded city in Latin America. His cultural attractions like the Nacional Museum of Anthropology, the Autonomous Nacional University, the Diego Rivera Museum or his Historical Downtown makes this city an attraction by his own right.

Second reason, his pyramids and desertic landscapes. Mexico was once the heart of the biggest pre-Columbian empire: the Aztecs, and before them, the Mayas. In their ruling, both civilizations rise enormous ceremonial pyramids, commonly visited by tourist all the seasons of the year. It also has in the North a vast desert that has inspired the imagination of famous writers like Octavio Paz or Roberto Bolaño.

Finally, in Mexico I will be able to wander the mystics of cultural mixing, learning new dialects of Spanish language. If I’m lucky, I will confirm my Latin American identity seeing that, if may everything seems new, it’s in any kind, familiar.

Rembrandt [1606- 1669] is the most famous of all the Dutch’s painters of Amsterdam's Golden Age of the XVII century. He has been identified as the master of the chiaroscuro technique, a style that shapes all of his works. His life is bittersweet, he is born as the son of a miller far from the capital city of the republic. He shows premature interest for drawing. In his 20's, his talent is discovered by one of the most important cultural councilors of the Dutch court. He is hired by the court of Hague, the place when he will develop most of his talent. In the follow years he will move to Amsterdam, and there Rembrandt will live as a required painter of the flourishing Dutch bourgeoise. One of the most difficult things to do in quarantine it's having fun when you can't get out or far from home. The first month of lockdown was a heavy torture, because I only had days when everything was: college - eating - household chores - sleep...and repeat. One day a former classmate of Concepción said to me " do u want to hang out in a virtual books club ?" and I was, at first, thinking that it may not work, but later the weeks and the sessions we had, I convinced myself with the fact that it was working, and quite well! actually we have 15 members. Now we have sessions all Thursdays at 9 pm. We chose a topic in the week before and we develop it in "front" of everyone. It's an important place to share ideas and new readings, and it's very helpful to take away some of the stress that means to be confined.
