Free Topic! - Online Free Time Activity

One of the most difficult things to do in quarantine it's having fun when you can't get out or far from home. The first month of lockdown was a heavy torture, because I only had days when everything was: college - eating - household chores - sleep...and repeat. One day a former classmate of Concepción said to me "do u want to hang out in a virtual books club?" and I was, at first, thinking that it may not work, but later the weeks and the sessions we had, I convinced myself with the fact that it was working, and quite well! actually we have 15 members.

Now we have sessions all Thursdays at 9 pm. We chose a topic in the week before and we develop it in "front" of everyone. It's an important place to share ideas and new readings, and it's very helpful to take away some of the stress that means to be confined.

The platforms used are various, we started with the standard 40-minutes Zoom, then we passed to Meet, but the last sessions we have been using Discord, a very dynamic platform used by gamers, where u can program bots, play music and share documents in a fast way.

I really hope u can find your online free time activity, it's not the same that face to face encounters, but it's helpful to spend time out of the daily routine.

    Sounds so nice, like a real virtual place to enjoy company and books. Is important to try to enjoy our free time the best that we could :)

    Wow! what an interesting activity. As I read, I remembered some scenes from Riverdale where a character attended reading meetings and the members debated about a particular book.

The best holiday i have had 💬.

In perspective, part of this year's holidays where definitively the better ones of my life. They took place in the famous "Litoral Central", what is, basically, the closest beaches to Santiago, Chile's Capital City. Between other journeys, i stayed there four days and four nights in a tent on a small house’s backyard in Las Cruces. Crosses Town [?]. In those streets i had time to look around for three things.       Landscape . The sea, when you walk through the sand, it’s always there. Cartagena and Las Cruces are pretty close, and you can get to another point, just by walking thirty minutes. These two old towns are part of one in many bays in the Litoral Central. Its usual to see Albatross, Pelicans and Numenius. My future job - Working as a Sociologist

In the immediate future, or middle-range time, I will be working as social scientist, basically, researching social order phenomena.  This job is technical in his most, but I would also like to expand and use my knowledge not just in mechanic operations of data analysis and visualization or writing reports, but also taking part in decision making processes. Where I could find a job? There are various opportunities and demands of social researchers so as in policy design as in private enterprise analytics. It’s also a possibility the option of working as teacher in several institutes, universities or even high-schools. I’ve always had an interest in teaching, so it’s an interesting open opportunity.
